Computers and Internet

The Morrill Memorial Library provides free public access to computers and the Internet. Internet-accessible computers offer a full Microsoft Office Suite. Bring your library card with you; you will need your card number to get on our computers. You may not permanently save documents on library computers so it is helpful to bring along a writable CD or a flash drive as well. In addition, free, open wireless access is available in many areas throughout the library.

The Morrill Memorial Library uses Cassie, a software queue  system, to provide fair access to all Internet computers. Any attempt to bypass or compromise Cassie may result in loss of Internet privileges.

Computers in the Children’s Department use Internet filtering software, which attempts to protect children online. Parents and children should know that filters offer no guarantee of protection from all objectionable material. Ultimately, parents are responsible for monitoring their child’s use of the Internet.

Interested in learning how to use our computers? We offer several classes to help familiarize library patrons with Using the Keyboard and Mouse, Navigating the Internet, Creating an Email Address, and Using Our Online Catalog. To sign up for one of our Computer Courses, contact the Administrative Assistant at (781) 769-0200 x100.
