Last of the Fall Film Fest Movies: ‘Unfinished Song’

movie theaterWe had to cancel this last film of the Fall Film Fest due to snow on December 17.  The series concludes with Vanessa Redgrave in the 2013 hit “Unfinished Song” on January 9, 2014.  The Friends of the Library fund the movie license that allows us to show these films, and Regal Cinemas in Bellingham donates the popcorn.

TogetherYes Film: Last Call at the Oasis

OasisCome to the award-winning film “Last Call at the Oasis” which concerns the serious threat being posed to our water supply. This is the first of four documentaries in the spring 2014 film series sponsored by Together Yes. “Last Call at the Oasis” sheds light on the vital role water plays in our lives, and the possibility that in the near future there won’t be enough water to sustain life on our planet.

Fall Film Fest: Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

MarigoldOur Tuesday night fall film fest featuring British female screen legends continues on 11/19 with “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. The series concludes with Vanessa Redgrave in “Unfinished Song” on 12/17. The Friends of the Library fund the movie license that allows us to show these films, and the popcorn is donated by Regal Cinemas in Bellingham.

Together Yes Fall Film Series: Taking Root

Taking Root“Taking Root: the Vision of Wangari Maathai” is the 2nd selection in the fall film series presented by the organization Together Yes. Wangari Maathai founded the Green Belt Movement in Kenya in 1977. She was the first environmentalist and the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
