Musical Sundays in April

Sunday, April 10, 2011, 3pm-4:30pm

Join Roberto and Kathryn for an afternoon of special romantic music. This exciting vocal jazz/guitar duo features Newton residents Kathryn Howell (vocals) and Roberto Mighty (guitar and vocals). Their debut album, Don’t Explain, was recorded in 2010. The concert will include classic songs from The Great American Songbook such as I Thought About You, A Foggy Day, Don’t Explain, Somebody Loves Me, In a Sentimental Mood, and other favorites.

Watch Roberto and Kathryn rehearse on YouTube. With a diverse array of performing experiences, Kathryn Howell is an AEA actress who has played at the Wilbur and the Charles Theaters in downtown Boston, as well as other New England theaters. Kathryn’s roots are in musical theater, classical study and jazz /blues. After graduating from college, Roberto Mighty built a recording studio and became a successful writer and arranger of music for radio and TV. He strives to create a unique sound by combining jazzy crooning with his signature Spanish-tinged funky guitar playing.
