Spring Musical Sundays Concert Series: Howie Newman & Jackie Damsky

Howie-Newman-Jackie-DamskyThe Spring Musical Sundays series kicks off with a concert by Boston-based Howie Newman and Jackie Damsky. This singing, guitar and fiddle playing duo specializes in acoustic folk rock, performing covers of well-known tunes plus original songs. Newman and Damsky encourage audience participation.

The following Spring Musical Sundays concerts include Beth Purcell and pianist performing tunes from the American Songbook on April 3rd, Quintessential Brass on April 24th, and the Great American Songbook & International Cabaret on May 1st. All concerts begin at 3:00 pm. Fall Musical Sundays 2015: Wolverine Jazz Quartet

Wolverine-Jazz-BandA quartet from the Wolverine Jazz Band will perform the fifth and final concert in our fall Musical Sundays series. The quartet will include a banjo, tuba, clarinet and trumpet. They will play an assortment of traditional jazz, Dixieland, swing, and pop including some Christmas tunes.

Fall Musical Sundays 2015: Seele Musicale Chamber Ensemble

seelemusicaleSeele Musicale Chamber Ensemble will perform a program of music by Bach, Telemann, and Samuel Barber as part of the library’s Musical Sundays fall concert series. The program features soprano voice, violins, viola, cello, keyboard, and oboe and recorder soloists. Seele Musicale is known for its heartfelt interpretations of vocal/instrumental works and pure instrumental music, particularly of the 17th and 18th centuries.
