Enter the annual Morrill Memorial Library Essay Contest

Pencil for Essay ContestTime to get out your pen and paper, iPads or laptops. The Morrill Memorial is running its annual essay contest again. Drum roll please! This year’s topic is “The Bravest Character I Know and Why.” Each submission MUST include the entry form, and be 1,000 words or less, describing why your favorite character from a story is your hero. This year’s contest is open only to students who are Norwood residents. The three age groups are as follows: Group 1 (3rd and 4th grade), Group 2 (5th-8th grade) and Group 3 (9th-12th grade). Anyone interested in entering the contest may stop by the library for the details and the entry form, or find the form below.

To qualify, the essays need to be submitted between Tuesday, March 15th and Friday, April 15th (12 pm) 2016, by email to nling@minlib.net or to the library’s Outreach Department. Three prizes will be awarded in each category. The first, second and third prizes are $35, $25 and $10 dollar gift cards to Barnes & Noble, in that order. A celebration will be held in the Simoni Room on Monday, May 9th, from 7-9 pm.
