April 12th is Snapshot Day! (updated)

UPDATE: You can view the Morrill Memorial Library’s photos here. And more than 1700 photos from across the state are available here. Thank you to everyone for your help!

April 12th is Snapshot Day in Massachusetts. Did you know that more people visit their library each year than attend the entire seasons of the Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox combined? Over the past decade, Massachusetts libraries have experienced a 50% increase in visits and a 29% increase in circulation. On April 12th, Morrill Memorial Library will join libraries across the Commonwealth and the nation to provide a “snapshot” of what happens in a day in the life of a library.

We will be taking pictures and talking to staff and patrons to find out what happens at the Morrill Memorial Library. Are people finishing their taxes at the last minute? Doing their homework? Attending a program? What are the staff up to? You will be able to view photos from libraries across Massachusetts on Flickr. We will also be sharing information with the American Library Association, which will compile data about the number of library visitors and books circulated. We hope to see you on Snapshot Day!
