Archaeological Excavations in Greece

BryanBurnsBryan Burns, Norwood resident and professor of classical archaeology at Wellesley College, will talk about the archaeological excavations he is leading in Eleon, a rural site 30 miles north of Athens. He will explain how his team of international scholars coordinates excavation, analysis, and conservation in light of the country’s financial crisis and will talk about the challenges of using remains such as pottery, animal bones, and stone walls to reconstruct the history of an ancient settlement.
